I have always have had a love for MY LITTLE PONY for as long as I can remember. I clearly remember playing with my ponies as a child, they brought me so much happiness and were my escape from the world around me which i didn't feel safe in. Ponies were one of the few things I really enjoyed about my childhood... I smile every time I remember playing with my little pony herd... I was 6 years old when I took my younger sisters first pony... I played with it every day and I didn't let that little thing out of my site. My mom noticed I was so attached to it, but she was always aware of my love for horses since age 3. My mother then bought more ponies from a yard sale and thrift shops, and I took those too. I was so happy. I remember some being written on and tail-less so the first thing i did was put a yarn tail on them so they could feel complete.
When I turned 11 I lost all my childhood ponies. I was playing with my neighbor LOLITA outside and my mother called me in the house. I started gathering my ponies and she begged me to let her play with them a bit longer. I was hesitant, but I went ahead and let her borrow them. That was the last time I ever saw them. when I came back to pick them up she said she had left them on the back of her big brothers truck and they were lost when he drove off. I was depressed for a long time... I remember looking in the street for them. Years went by and I never had a pony again. I eventually blocked it out and grew up.
In Dec 13 2002 my best friend at the time by the name of ANN surprised me with a My Little Pony. I was in shock and so happy. It brought so many memories back and I became completely obsessed with them all over again. She told me about EBAY and I went nuts buying tons of them. I was able to re-buy the same ponies I had lost as a child.
Now im a serious collector and I have meet other collecters from different states and countries and have become friends with a few who i am still to this day in contact with. I have also met people who collect ponies like i do from all over the world...
I am a local artist in the Los Angeles area. I'm familiar with all art mediums and I have shown in art galleries throughout California since 1998. In 2003 I began drawing and customizing ponies as a hobby. I still continue creating new pony art and customs to this day.
Here's the pony that restarted my pony obsession...
Gusty is still too this day one of my favorite ponies from my entire collection...
I really need to make an art piece of Gusty. I keep telling my self I will do it... I need to make it happen.
